2011 - what were your highlights?
IT'S been another entertainment-packed year in Dunfermline with an absorbing feast of live music, theatre and comedy.
From Glasvegas at Velocity in January to Cast and The View just before Christmas, we enjoyed a bursting calendar of top-class events.
Captivating performers such KT Tunstall, Morrissey (right) and The Charlatans played memorable gigs at the Alhambra.
PJ Molloys continued to attract some of the country's best current performers with Miles Kane and Frank Turner among those playing to rammed audiences.
Punk pioneers The Buzzcocks turned the clock back and there were DJ spots for Madchester legends Mani and Bez.
Local bands also enjoyed a highly successful 2011. Big Country were given the prestigious honour of being first up on the main stage at T in the Park to launch the weekend.
Modern Faces were on tour with Kasabian and Val Verde supported Bon Jovi at Murrayfield.
A masterclass by blues legend John Mayall ably supported by Oli Brown kicked off an action-loaded end to the year.
Kassidy were superb at PJs followed in the same week by tremendous gigs at the Glen Pavilion by Cast and The View.
Fans of the West End musicals were also on song this year with visits from 'Thriller Live' and 'The Blood Brothers'.
The country's top comedians have been keeping Dunfermline laughing all through 2011 with visits from Jason Byrne, Jimmy Carr, Ed Byrne, Andy Parsons, Milton Jones, Chris Addison, Bill Bailey and not forgetting Roy 'Chubby' Brown.
One of the most enjoyable nights of the year came when Sir Alex Ferguson returned to Dunfermline to meet his team mates from the Pars side of the '60s and talk about his career to a full house at the Alhambra.
These were just a few highlights of a crammed year when Dunfermline had a blast in defiance of a daily deluge of economic doom and gloom.
